Australian photographer Ray Collins first picked up a camera in 2007, taking photos of his friends surfing near his home. His interest and attention quickly shifted to patters and forms in the seascape as evidenced by his mesmerizing work. Collins is also drawn to the interplay of light and water. Formerly a coal miner, Collins poetically refers to his transition to fine art photographer as a balance between his “black life and blue life.” Accolades and awards soon followed, leading to the publication of his first book, Found at Sea.
